Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

To My Mother

May 11, 2008 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 10 Comments

Here’s my beautiful mother and I enjoying one of Barcelona’s beaches.

Thanks for
giving me life
changing my diapers
singing to me
reading to me
teaching me to read
all the encouragement
letting me splash in puddles
and squish Box Elder bugs in my neck

Thanks for
your patience
the discipline when I needed it
the hugs
the kisses
a cool hand on a fevered forehead
taxi rides to ball games and music lessons
laughing and smiling
talking and lecturing

Thanks for
tolerating teenage hormones
reading your scriptures every morning
praying for my welfare
setting an example of how a mother should be
forgiving my faults
sharing the legacy passed on to you
from other great mothers
loving unconditionally

I love you! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

P.S. Your card is in the mail. A little late. Oops!

Oh my goodness. I can totally see parts of your mother in you and in each of your girls. I love your mother’s cheery smile.

This is a beautiful post about your mom. I feel so lucky to be part of the Alba family. You are an amazing mom too. I can’t believe all of the amazing things you do. By the way, your white bread recipe is the best. It’s the only one I use now.

Spain is a wonderful place to visit. We went there once or twice when we lived in England.

I’m visiting LDS blogs on RingSurf this morning, because on my blog today there is a gorgeous free Salt Lake Temple screen saver (220 pictures) by photographer, David Terry.

Please help yourself, enjoy, and spread the word!

The poem is awesome and was a wonderful way to stop and pause and think about my mama. Thanks.

Also, I know you’re working on the blog appearance. I found it easier to see the dark letters on the cream background versus the white. Just my own little thought.
