Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Changed my Signature

October 19, 2008 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 6 Comments

My good friend Marmee accidentally clicked on my old signature (at the bottom of my posts) when she was trying to click on something else in her feed reader. Now I knew that clicking on the signature would take you to the site where I created the signature. What I did not know, however, was the site now uses terrible, explicit ads on their page. We’re talking yucky pictures of girls with th*ngs and nothing else. Very GROSS! So I have changed my signature to one of my own creation.

Here’s how you can create your own unique signature too:

First create a new document in your Photoshop, Photoediting, or even Paint program. Mine was only 4 x 2 inches.

Then type in your signature name using whatever font you want. Mine is a downloaded font from dafont called Bleeding Cowboys. You can also add a picture next to it if you so desire.

Save this file as a jpeg.

Upload it to Flickr.

On the photo’s Flickr page, click on “All Sizes” which will be right above it in the center.

Click on the small or thumbnail option, depending on the size of signature you want.

Copy the html code in option 1 under the photo.

Log into your blogger dashboard. Click on the Settings Tab. Click on Formatting.

Scroll to the bottom of the Formatting page until you get to the POST TEMPLATE box. Paste the html code for your signature in that box. Click Save Settings right under that box.

Every time you write a new post your signature will automatically show up in your create post box!

How cool is that?

Thanks for the heads up. My signature linked to that site as well. But instead of creating a new signature (I don’t have photoshop) I just went into my blog settings and changed the target link of that signature that appears on each post to just return to my blog home rather than that horrible site. YUCK!

    I need to get photoshop!

I will have to figure this out in Photoshop.
I too have my sig from the same place as you, when I clickede yours there were those yucky pics and when I click on mine there aren’t any pics but just google ads. Weird?

Hello, I been blurking your blog for the past year. Ever since Aunt Mary shared everyone’s blogsite addresses. Shame on me for never commenting. I have enjoyed all the fun stuff you share on your blog.

I’m trying to comment more often since I’ve finally started my own blog. I have realized how fun it is to get comments! Stop on over and say Hi.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to figure out that signature thing. Thanks for the info. I got it to work, but I’m having a hard time trying to match my background. I end up with a white box around my name. Not cool.

By the way, my Mom is Aunt Alice. So that makes me your cousin-“in-law,” I guess???
