Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Potpourri

November 21, 2008 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 13 Comments

♥ Busy but fun day yesterday. Fudge, Cookie and I spent the day in Reno – three hours at the pediatric dentist and that was just for check-ups! That part wasn’t too fun but all the shopping was. I took them to Toys R Us. They’ve never been and were enthralled with all the toys. In the end their choice of toys was typical. Cookie opted for a Dora purse and cell phone while Fudge bought a good old hula hoop. We went to the craft store and the fabric store as well. It was fun to just spend time with the little girls and lavish some love and attention on just them.

♥ Today my house smells like apple pie. We are canning apple pie filling so the scents of nutmeg, cinnamon and apples are everywhere.

♥ Piano lessons will be taking place as soon as I’m done with this post.

♥ This afternoon the girls will be sewing Christmas crayon rolls for The Purple Cow Bookstore.

♥ I have some fun new material for more handbags and several aprons. The handbags will go in my etsy shop the aprons are for a bridal shower tomorrow. I’m using two patterns out of this book.
Talk about eye candy! I love just about every one of the twenty-five apron patterns! I need to sew two of them this afternoon.

♥ Special Dark is in the living room singing along to his tractor movie. “John Deere, it’s all about John Deere!” Yeah, sometimes he’s easy to please.

♥ Due to the above activities, school for today is life skills. ☺

I resisted (barely) the urge to buy that same apron book last night. Now I wish I HAD bought it!!

I also updated my barn star tutorial with some sites that sell barn stars online:-).

For some reason, I totally want a vintage looking, super-cool apron. Would it make me want to cook?? That apron book looks interesting 🙂

I love this. Life skills days are great, and it seems like we have many more of them this time of year. Sometimes I feel guilty about them, but then I realize how lucky I am that my children actually have the opportunity to learn these skills and don’t feel so bad…

    Momof3,

Christmas crayon rolls are just crayon rolls made out of Christmas fabric.

Wow, what a busy place! I am ashamed to say that the only apple filling in my house today was in the pre-made pie that came with the bucket of KFC. Mr. MK was in charge of dinner.

    Have a great weekend.

It sounds like a lovely day! And my boys know that John Deere song too! And now I’ll be humming it for the next week or so. Thanks a lot. 🙂

If I lived closer, I would come crash your school of life-skills … you would be an amazing teacher!
