Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Pogonip Crystals

January 22, 2009 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 19 Comments

Earlier this week we had about three days straight of pogonip in the morning. The north side of our house didn’t get any sun during the day so the crystals on the gravel grew longer each day. It was beautiful! Here’s a few close-up shots of what pogonip crystals look like.

This is a small piece of wood that happened to be on the gravel of our driveway.

I couldn’t resist the pogonip covered, heart-shaped rock. Can you see it?

    Love the new diggs!!

We actually had this for a couple of days after you first wrote it! It was fun telling the girls that it actually had a name. I never thought about it before!

We’ve actually had some pogonip out here too. It’s so pretty–it’s been growing on the snow that is already there, so it looks like a coral reef.

I don’t know exactly what a pogonip crystal is, but I think I like it! Especially on the heart-shaped rock – too cool!

P.S. I only came by here the first time a few days ago and you had the red and black design. Is that the “new design” or the old look? I was curious to see your redesign! Looks good, whether it’s old or new. =]

When you tweeted I thought “pogonip…pogonip…I know I’ve heard that somewhere recently…” Duh! It was from you!

How pretty! I’ve never heard of Pogonip Crystals before. They don’t grow in my part of the country. Nice pics.

    everydayMOM,

My old blog design was brown with polka dots and had one sidebar. My header had my head split open at the top with chocolate spilling out. I kind of got tired of seeing that. 😀
