I ♥ Faces Kids: Week 4 Eyes

February 1, 2009 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 25 Comments

I love having these themes to work with every week. To see more “The eyes have it” photos visit I ♥ Faces.

Brownie's Peepers

These brown beauties belong to Brownie. Until I had seven children, all with brown eyes, I had no idea that there were so many variations of brown. From dark chocolate to pecan to carmel, they run the gamut. Brownie has the darkest skin but the lightest eyes. She is also our fashionista. She can find the oddest pieces of clothing, put them together and create a work of art. She loves the knit cap she’s wearing here. In this photo it blends into the background drawing attention to her eyes.

I think the red scarf does a nice job of highlighting the gold flecks in her eyes, too. Beautiful eyes, to be sure!

What a beauty! I always said I wanted a child with blond hair and brown eyes. (Mine are blue.) I got four with brown eyes and three that started as blonds. I don’t know why I never noticed before since eyes are usually one of the first things I look at, but there are so many different shades of brown. My oldest daughter (you commented on her pic today) has the lightest eyes and they are usually a light golden brown, but they change colors. Sometimes they look more green than brown. Her older brother has the darkest eyes, and sometimes you can barely see his pupils. Brown eyes can be beautiful, too!

What an arresting picture. What I love is that as her eyes catch your attention you feel like you can really see so much of her personality in them: a confident young woman with a great sense of humor.
