The Quintessential American Man

February 28, 2009 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 10 Comments

I’m giddy with excitement this morning. The black and white photo of my father-in-law won 1st place in this week’s I ♥ Faces contest!

The farmer

The judge this week was Kricia Morris. Here’s what she said about the photo, “I chose this adult winner because of the timelessness of this photo. This could be any one of our father’s, grandfather’s, husband’s, etc. The contrast and texture in this photo is amazing, and the catch lights in his eyes are beautiful! This classic image truly could be an image in a magazine representing the quintessential American man. I love it!”

Mr. Ferrero Rocher only laughed hysterically at the description of his dad, “The quintessential American man. Boy, he’s gonna love that!” Said teasingly of course, because if you know my father-in-law at all he’s going to be so embarrassed.

Your welcome Grandpa W.

The judge hit it on the nail. This photo is true to life and timeless. And while your father in law might get embarrassed I would be willingto bet he’ll be secretly flattered.

Congrats on your win! I love the fact that when you posted the picture, you said that he (or you) would die for showing it off to so many people….and now look! It will live forever in I Heart Faces archives!
