Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Paper Snowflakes

The weather, like a negligent parent, still threatens but doesn’t follow through. We decided to make our own snowflakes instead, albeit a little non-traditionally.

Get some paper, any size. We used leftover packaging paper that came yesterday stuffed around a special treat I’ll post about later. (There was a bit of sunshine yesterday after all!)

Fold it accordion style as if you were going to make a paper fan.

Staple it right in the middle. Make sure the staple is going the way shown in the photo! We had to fold an end up to make it fit properly for our stapler to reach the middle.

Using a hole punch, punch holes all over. Sometimes it’s too hard to punch through all the layers so just open it up a little and punch a couple of layers at a time.

Cut the ends either pointed or round them.

Now bring the sides together on each side of the staple so it fans out.

A non-traditional paper snowflake!

So pretty hanging over the dining room table.
