Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Favorite Household Chores

March 29, 2011 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 3 Comments

favorite chores
It was so much fun to read what people’s favorite chores are to do! There was basically a tie for Cooking/Meal Prep, Laundry, and Cleaning Floors (sweep/mop/vaccum). I have to say my favorite chore to do is laundry, especially when I can hang the clothes on the line to dry. And with the size of my family it gives a real feeling of accomplishment! Gardening and baking bread are a close second.

The above pie chart shows the results of everyone’s comments from last week’s post. The Outside category covers gardening, shoveling snow, and chickens/pets. The Other category includes those that had fewer than five people saying they were favorites such as organizing, ironing, making beds, dusting, and sewing.

My favorite comment was left by Kathleen who said, “Such a wonderful apron! My favorite chore that’s not really a chore is preparing the house for my husband coming home from work. My toddler daughter and I turn on praise music, brush our hair and light candles so that the house is peaceful “when daddy gets home.” I love teaching her this important ‘skill.’” Amen! Creating that home environment is so important!

What a wonderful idea to prepare for your husband to come home that way. Thank you for sharing.

I think my husband would die of shock if I had candles burning! But it’s such a great thought. I might have to try something like that. Right now, he’s met by a small and very excited toddler who just wants big hugs. I did get all excited about the thought of clean windows, though, and cleaned my kitchen windows inside and out. What a great mood lifter!
