My New Organizational Tool

Do you know I have had a gazillion bookmarks on my web browser? Seriously, I had folders for homeschool, sewing (further divided into smaller categories), cooking, crafts, blog posts to read again, the list goes on. Not to mention the bookmarks on my other computer. There were so many that when looking for a particular one I knew I had it was hard to find it because I had to remember which computer I bookmarked it on and what site it was on. BIG PAIN.

Enter Pinterest.

I am in love with this concept of pinning to different boards, yes just like bookmarks, only better, way better. It pins the pictures so I can actually see what I was looking for rather than read through all the titles. And I can label it whatever I want to more easily help me remember.

Now I can consolidate all the bookmarks from my various computers into one visual space.

I’m just getting started and still have oh, about a couple hundred more things to pin, but it feels good knowing I’m getting a little more organized.

And look! I found others having been pinning things from this blog!

You should try Delicious.com too. It’s a bookmarking site that has a plug-in for Google Chrome so you don’t even have to copy and paste what you want to bookmark. Delicious is great because you can tag websites with certain key words so you can find it easily. I have tags for homeshooling, homesteading, even different categories of recipes like vegan, seafood, pasta, mexican, etc. I love it. I have thousands of bookmarks now and it goes with me where-ever I go. It’s more of a list format but the tags make it easy to know where to look for something.

I have heard sooo many people talk about this, but still haven’t tried it out. I’m not online nearly as much as I used to be when I was a stay-at-home mom, but might still have a use for it sometimes.

I have it bookmarked to try out! 🙂

I have heard alot about it and it seems like such a good idea. I had internet down for a week on one of my computers and it is the one that all of my school bookmarks are on…do you think I could find them on the other computer?! This is great to have as a portable option.

    This week….this week!

I love pinterest for the exact reason you describe. I love being able to have a visual reminder of things I run across online, and access to my boards from any computer is fabulous too!

I just started pinning too! I love it. So much easier to keep track of things. I still need to go though and get all my school things pinned. Happy pinning!

I’m on Pinterest, too, and love that I can just hit the “Pin It” tab and do just that. I’m now following you, if you don’t mind, because I love your style!
