Next Wordfull Wednesday Assignment

October 5, 2011 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 2 Comments

Now that Celebrate the Family is over for this year I can finally start getting back into my regular posting schedule. Wordfull Wednesdays will start again next week!

Don’t remember what Wordfull Wednesdays are?

Wordfull Wednesdays is an opportunity to hear many different bloggers’ opinions and ideas about various topics. There will only be one topic each Wordfull Wednesday. It will be held every other week with a Mr. Linky put up here for everyone to link to their posts. On the off Wednesday that it is not held I will post the topic for the next Wordfull Wednesday. Hopefully this will give you a week’s time to think about the topic, gather your thoughts, and type them into a post.

As a little incentive I will hold a giveaway each month, drawing from all those who participated. If you participated in two Wordfull Wednesdays for the month your name will be entered twice. Prizes will vary and will most likely be from Etsy shops to promote the handmade goodness that can be found there.

Ready to hear what your assignment is for next Wednesday?

Paint Chip Writing

Huh?

It’s actually really fun and causes you to think creatively.  While at the store pick up a few paint chip samples. Make sure they are the kind with several shades of color on a strip. Don’t cheat and read the names before choosing your sample! Choose one strip to use in your story or poem or if you are feeling really creative use two! The trick is to write a story that incorporates every paint color name on your paint chip sample.

For example here is a short story my six year old wrote using a gray paint sample strip. The paint colors are italicized:

The chimney sweep fell off the rusty tin roof and landed on his back on the rocky gray earth.

Obviously, I expect you to be more verbose in your writing but you get the drift of what to do.

** If you don’t make it to the store to pick up paint samples or you forget to, never fear! Use the Color Palette from Glidden paint. Choose a color, then randomly scroll your mouse over the hues for the color names.

Can’t wait to see all your colorful writing next Wednesday!
