Christmas Traditions: Nativity Scenes Part I

December 5, 2011 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 10 Comments

We have many Christmas traditions in our family. One of my favorites is collecting nativity scenes, or creches. We get a new one (or more!) every year to display along with the others in our collection. Because I have so many I decided to cover most of the nativities in two posts (maybe three).

Enjoy the visual feast!

I love the one that your sister-in-law made! I’m impressed! I just got a Little People one so that my kids can actually play with it and I don’t worry about it. It was fun to have a lesson on the real meaning of Christmas this morning with my little boys. Even if they did spend half of it trying to keep Jesus out of the baby’s mouth! 😉

We don’t have many places to display stuff like this (breakable stuff!) but I hope to have more some day. For now, we have our trusty old stuffed animal nativity set!

I LOVE nativities too! and I love my kids to play with them too! I just blogged about it and a friend says she never lets her kids play with them! so I always make sure I have some sturdy ones around. I would love to collect nativites – i have about 3 full sets, and several miniture ones but have a small house.. so dont want to go over board 🙂

They are all so beautiful. I also like having some that aren’t breakable for the children to be able to interact with.

They are all so lovely! I too love nativities but I do not have as many as you.
I love the one you have from Guatamala. I think it would be so neat to collect them from around the world.
