Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

You are here: Home / Living . . .

Living . . .

I’m behind on this

dirty dishes

but not this

laundry

The school book closet is reaching teetering proportions . . .

…again. How did I end up with two copies of War and Peace?

And only so much can be done while this Bubba Boy naps.

This photo just cracks me up! Ganache is not quite as fat as he appears in the photo but he’s close! Quite a change from his rocky beginning {those pictures still make me cry}. Chubby babies are so much easier to care for, and are much more fun to squish and kiss and munch on, don’t you think? And hearing him laugh deep belly laughs . . . pure joy!

In other news every single room in this house will be getting a complete decluttering in the next few months. And it will take months. Um, the school book closet is not the only part of the house that looks like that. I plan on doing a thorough job taking at least a week {or more} per room. Why? We are building a new house this year!!!! I am so excited! We built a house when we lived in Fallon, lived in it for 2 years, then moved up here into a smaller, older, rundown house while at the same time increasing the number of children by half of what we had when we moved. I want to decrease our stuff and simplify our routines before we get to the moving stage. You can see a bit of what our new view will be here.

So how about you? Any exciting plans for your family in the works?

Ah, the dish scene sounds oddly familiar… I feel like I am always behind on dishes.

There are dishes in my sink right now, but the laundry is done!!

We hope to be building or buying our first home this year. With 4 kids and 1000 sq foot 3 bed room home and homeschooling it’s a bit tight 🙂 Fun you guys get to build a new house!! Good luck

I remember our first house (800 sq feet) fondly. We had four kids in that house. It was definitely a tight squeeze! Good luck on your venture!

I’m so glad you’re building a new home! From the pictures of your kitchen I’ve wondered how on earth you guys survive with that. It reminds me of when we got to the point where there were 9 of us kids living in the starter home my parents had built. We just kept adding on! The kitchen was ridiculous and it was nice when it was finally expanded. I bet planning a new house is so much fun!

The kitchen is going to be my favorite room I think! We will go from an 8 x 10 kitchen area to a 14×18 kitchen area with 2 islands. So much room!

Oh how I need to declutter and organize just so we can live in our home more comfortably too and I know what you mean about it taking months. Maybe you should post an area you are working on and we can all team up together to get that area done in our homes 🙂 Good luck to you and congrats on building a new home.

I have been watching your pintrest and it looks like your house will be so beautiful. (I expecially loved the book nook you pinned a couple days ago…)

I am ALWAYS behind on laundry but not dishes…vicious cycle here. As soon as the clothes are clean and put away, there are 10 more to do!

Have a grand time decluttering. I actually enjoy that, when I do it. I love giving it all away too…but the gathering and collecting it all is my favorite part of all! 🙂

Congratulations on getting to build a new home. We moved here 6 years ago and I had gone through everything and gotten rid of a bunch of junk before the move. I now need to start over again. Spring cleaning here I come; I hope.
Loved the pictures and especially your sweet little one.
    Blessings to you!

Bubba boy. Love it. He’s is the cutest baby I’ve ever seen. Seriously. My little guy that had a rocky beginning never did chub out much. He’s still on the small side. You must be giving him straight cream. Hugs!

I am also on the decluttering train. I hit the linen closet and each of the kids’ dressers/ closets. I am strategically avoiding my own closet. Laundry and dishes usually stay up to par…it’s those darn bathrooms that fall behind.

Ganache looks wonderful. I loved that stage – about six to eight months when there’s so much chunk to love. My oldest was scrawny (very sick at birth) for the first 6 months or so. I rejoiced the day he developed multiple chins!

I am so excited for you!!! That lot looks amazing. And I am just starting to declutter. I hate doing it but love it when it is done. Your baby is the cutest chubby thing ever. My Last baby was so fat, but this one is tiny. Same boobs, different genes.

    Love you.

Congratulations on your 2nd house building project. We also built two homes, sadly moved out of the first 7 months after moving into it(job transfer). Hope all goes well for you. I have been told a man is lucky if he and wife survive the first house. On occasion I have teased my hubby on how lucky he is that I stayed with him through the second one. Now he talks of a third!

I’m so excited about your new home! I’m sure the planning has been thrilling – and I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you design inside.

And there is nothing like moving to get de-cluttering. We did it here
http://mommymita.blogspot.com/2008/01/eee.html and have found Marie’ Ricks to have some good tips. I really haven’t missed much of the “things” we passed on. Amen to simplicity!

    Love the chubby baby photo
