Al Young Studios Art {Giveaway}

August 2, 2012 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 49 Comments

“The nearer we get to God, the more easily our spirits are touched by refined and beautiful things.”

These words by Douglas Callister describe perfectly the way I feel about the artwork and other publications created by the Young family. I want my children and our family to feel closer to God. Having beautiful artwork gracing the walls of our home helps us to accomplish this. Our homes, the time we spend there, the atmosphere, the moods, have a big influence on our lives. It is in the home that our children form most of their habits and ideas.  One of the easiest ways to influence the mood of your home is through beautiful artwork. I want artwork that inspires, uplifts, and helps us to feel peaceful.

As It Began to Dawn {Mary Magdelene}

A Damsel Came to Hearken {Rhoda}

Each of my daughters has “their” Women of the Bible print in their bedrooms {six of them are named after a woman in the Bible}. I want my daughters to remember the mission each woman fulfilled, to inspire them to fulfill their own missions in life, and to look to the qualities each of these women have exhibited, to draw strength from them.

Besides the Women of the Bible series other art collections include Messiah Collection, High Valley, and Heroes of the Book of Mormon. The talented Young family also produces music, magazines, and books.

Al Young Studios is filling the world with goodness, touching lives with refined and beautiful creations. And I am grateful.

For today’s giveaway the winner will receive an 11×17 print of their choice!

    We are big fans of the Hero’s of the Bible series here. My son has a couple and his brothers would love to have some too. I actually have them on my list to grab for CHristmas… 🙂

    My personal favorite is “And my soul hungered”

    These are so lovely. The use of light and shadow is breathtaking. Your children are fortunate to have these as inspiration in their rooms. I love the Mary Magdalene print; I can feel my own excitement at knowing the ending of her errand.

    I love these beautiful pictures of the women of the Bible. What a great idea to put them in your daughters rooms. My daughter has a one of hte daughters of the Laminites that she loves. My favorite is “Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord” after struggling with inferility for years my heart always has hope that there is not anything too hard for the Lord that is a righteous desire and so I wait and have faith in His timing. Thanks for your wonderful blog.

    These painting are all amazing. If I was to get one of these I would love to get “The Joy of Our Redemption”. My oldest daughter did a scripture hero journal for Eve and we had a difficult time trying to find pictures of just Eve. This is amazing and I am sure she would love to put it up in her room.

    And My Soul Hungered – I love the emphasis on the sky. One of the rules in art is to never give up something (foreground) for nothing (background). When I first saw this painting I immediately thought of that rule and realized that the sky is not “nothing” – it represents all that Enos hungers for: the sky is the reason he has bowed to the earth. We are all small before God.
