Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

Five for Friday: Procrastination Edition

October 25, 2012 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 10 Comments

1. I am supposed to be packing up the motorhome we are taking to Boise for the Boise Temple open house. Instead I am writing this post, checking e-mails, and drinking hot cocoa. Queen of procrastination right here!

Sorry, Stephen’s Hot Cocoa, this stuff is way better!

Though the Starbucks Hot Cocoa mix I got from Costco is so delicious I don’t even feel that bad about it. I might even have another cup as a reward for finally loading the motorhome!

2. Mr. Ferrero Rocher installed a new counter top around our sink. It was something that should have been done when we moved in seven years ago but, ahem, got put on the back burner. The old counter top was tile and the grout was coming off around the sink. The worst part is over a week ago maggots started coming out of the grout there. {{shudders}}

installing countertop
What is so funny about the whole deal is this kitchen will be ripped out after a new addition to our house is built in a few months. {Yes, we are not building anymore but adding on instead – another story for another post} So we bought the cheapest formica counter top to put in for now.

3. Ganache is 15 months old and still not walking. Oh, he knows how to walk, but he crawls so much faster crawling is his preferred mode of movement.

sweet brown eyes
He is also HUGE. He is wearing 2T-3T clothes and they fit, even in the length!

4. One more week and I’ll be half way through this pregnancy. The best news so far? I’m not into my maternity clothes yet! This also makes it hard to shop for clothes to wear to my sister’s wedding at the end of November. Will I suddenly pop out or will I still be in the awkward “you look fat” stage?  Anything I buy must be done online which just adds to the difficult decisions.

Pregnant mothers of nine children do not look like this when pregnant

I finally settled on this dress but can guarantee I won’t look like that in it! My sister’s colors are burnt orange and cream with a dash of cobalt blue. The girls are supposed to wear charcoal grey skirts with a cream colored top. I’ll be wearing this dress and a cream cardigan.

You can purchase this necklace from RachelleD.

My daughter, Brownie, is making necklaces like this one for everyone to wear to bring in the colors.

5. I am woefully behind posting photos on my photography blog. I have been faithfully taking pictures of daily gifts – things I am thankful for – but have not been as faithful loading them to the blog. I hope to catch up soon!

I’ve been wondering about the house thing! I’m interested to find out what you decided to do to expand a little. Growing up, my family ripped out the kitchen of our home and extended it and added on a family room. It was so nice to have that added space! As for the maggots- when I was a teen I was cleaning out the cracks in the kitchen table where the leaves go together and found maggots in them! Gag. I’m glad you are getting a temporary fix on that gross situation! Hooray for no more tile and grout countertop! Those are the worst if you ask me.
Mr. G is totally adorable by the way. ( : Did you get that book I sent for him?

    1. That is the best hot chocolate
    2. The open house is so worth it. The temple is beautiful! Don’t expect a narrated tour.
    3. Maggots in the kitchen? Yeah, I would have ripped out the counters, too.
    4. I never looked like that in a maternity dress. I always looked frumpy.
    5. The splashing in the tub picture is the best. I love how you captured the water in the air.

    That is all. 🙂

I LOVE Starbucks and now that we moved…I finally understand that I will have to order on-line and it makes me happy you have it. 🙂

We just did the open house for the Calgary, Alberta temple and it was amazing. Each temple is such a beautiful place. It is a blessing to take your children through.

I would love to hear why you decided to expand instead of build. Our house we just bought is a little small in the kitchen area (read REALLY small) and I want to expand the kitchen…

I never looked good in a maternity dress. I just look fat. Who just pops out like that?! Oh well, it isn’t what you look like, it is the marvel of life you are creating. What a blessing each child is.

Love the photos at the end! (sunsets and baths…two of my favorite things! :D)
