Anne of Green Gables Printables & a Journal Craft

October 21, 2013 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 16 Comments

All this week I’m sharing all things Anne. It started when I decided to get a birthday package together to send to Bon Bon at college. It has been so much fun creating crafts and gathering ideas for her and her roommates to do…all while having an Anne of Green Gables movie marathon of course! On Friday, I’ll show what went into the whole package. Now on to today’s post . . .

Everyone needs a little Anne in their life. This spunky, imaginative, romantic girl played a big part in my growing up years. I loved reading L.M. Montgomery’s books and dreaming about life in Avonlea. I made a few printables of famous Anne (and Gilbert!) quotes.

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. ~ Anne Shirley

It was November - the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind songs in the pines. L.M. Montgomery

Dear old world, you are very lovely and I am glad to be alive in you. L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

It's been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will. L.M. Montgomery Anne of Green Gables

It's delightful when your imaginations come true. isn't it?

I don't want diamond sunbursts or marble halls. I just want you. Anne of Green Gables

I've loved you as long as I can remember. I need you.

Anne loved to write stories. To encourage would be writers I bought simple small (3.5 x 5.5 inch) and large (5 x 8.5 inch) cardboard covered journals from Amazon as well as some lace, colored permanent markers, and printed off the quotes to use in decorating the journals.

Journal decorating supplies

I created pages of all the quotes in 3×5 and 4×6 sizes so you don’t have to download them individually. I made them theses sizes so they can be glued to the journals.

Using craft glue or modge podge adhere the quotes and lace. When dry, let the kids decorate with designs drawn by the markers. Encourage them to write their own stories and poems!

I love it every time you share printables. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us! What program do you use to make them?

I use my Adobe Photoshop program and utilize all the free digital scrapbooking kits there are online, mostly from Summertime Designs and Allison Kimball.

Oh, I love the “Anne girl” too. Anne of Green Gables always reminds me of my grandma who first introduced me to her as a young girl. I now have 4 boys and one girl….named Anne, with an E of course. 🙂 And for a while when we lived in Colorado her best friend was named Diana. They were bosom friends and I loved it. 🙂

Oh how fun! I have a friend who named her daughter Avonlea. I wanted to use Anne but my husband has two sisters named Anna and Joanna and we have a sister-in-law (in the same family) named Annalee so Anne was out of the question.

Oh, I love journals! I’m addicted, actually. I make my own, too. I was scrolling through the printables and thinking how lovely they would look in my homemade smashbook. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I just love Anne! I saw a bunch of your pins and it got me itching to watch the movies. I don’t have them, but Christmas is coming! After some looking on Amazon I couldn’t decide which DVD version to buy – there were a lot of comments about poor quality. As an Anne expert, do you (or anyone else out there) have a recommendation?

We still use the old vhs tapes! I did order some DVDs to send in the package to my daughter though. We’ll see how good they are after they watch them.

I am excited for Anne week! I can’t wait to see the whole Anne package. Every spring I read all of the Anne books up to Rainbow Valley (Rilla of Ingleside is too sad for me). I will have to take out my Anne movies and cry a little. Those journals are so cute and I love the quotes. I wish our color printer was hooked up!

Love Anne of Green Gables. Loved the movies. I love the Anne quote. Did eat a bar of chocolate today too. It made me feel good. Joni

If you have fear for big “NO” from the lender just because of your bad credit, then eradicate this fear because you are still eligible for loan despite of the bad credit score. This implies that bad credit is no more a problem in procuring funds from the financial markets either its short term market fund or long term market fund.
