Visions of Hope {Book Review}

Can you be taught by looking at a piece of artwork? What if you study the details, the way the light dances around a figure, the expression of peace or even confusion on a face, the colors that were chosen?

Visions of Hope by Annie Henrie

Visions of Hope: An Illustrated Portrayal of God’s Plan for Us by fine artist Annie Henrie is exquisite! Her textured paintings make you reach out your hand to touch them and feel. It was after reading the book the first time I noticed the title of the book is raised on the cover. You can feel with your fingers the words Visions of Hope. Ms. Henrie tells the story of where we came from, why we are here, and what happens after we die through her lovely artwork.

Paired with scriptures from both the Bible and Book of Mormon each illustration helps us understand a bit of the plan God has for us as his children. I especially love that most of the artwork depicts family. This page {below} is my favorite!

Once I read through the book and shared it with my children, it disappeared. I couldn’t find it for two weeks! My fifteen year old, the one who loves to draw and paint, had it in her room. She was so drawn to the artwork she wanted to study it and try some new techniques. 🙂

Visions of Hope is a beautiful book that would make a wonderful gift!
