Christmas Jars Movie Review

December 13, 2019 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 1 Comment

I love Christmas movies! Comedy (Home Alone), classics (It’s a Wonderful Life), love stories (The Shop Around the Corner), and family friendly ones (Miracle on 34th Street).

This year we’ve added a new movie, Christmas Jars, to our line-up. It encompasses all the types of movies we like. It is funny, family friendly, a love story, and sure to become a classic for us.

When Hope receives a CHRISTMAS JAR full of money she decides to find out who left the jar and why. In her search she finds many recipients who also received jars when they were down on their luck. The jars were always left anonymously. Hope does uncover the family behind the Christmas Jars and in doing so a mystery from her own past is solved.

The message behind Christmas Jars isn’t about what we receive but looking beyond ourselves to help others who are in need.  It’s a message of how little things, over time, add up to make a big difference. You will laugh. You will cry. You will be inspired. You might even start a new tradition with your family.

MOVIE SYNOPSIS:

Christmas Jars is based on the New York Times best- selling novel by Jason F. Wright

Hope is an aspiring reporter who has had her fair share of tragedy in life. Abandoned at birth, she’s grieving the recent death of her adopted mother when her apartment is burglarized of all her possessions. While reporting the burglary to the police, Hope discovers a jar full of money, labeled “Christmas Jar.” Shocked and grateful for this act of kindness, Hope discovers that people all over her hometown of Columbus, Ohio, have been receiving Christmas Jars for years during times of need. The jars are always anonymous and always contain different amounts. In this heartwarming Christmas classic, Hope goes undercover to discover the secret behind the Christmas jars, putting into motion a series of events that will change her life, and her community, forever.

I thought this was cute and so did my kids! My husband wouldn’t stick around for it though!
