Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

You are here: Home / Family Life / Introducing Grandbaby #3!

Introducing Grandbaby #3!

June 28, 2020 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 4 Comments

Sara and Brigham had a little boy two weeks ago on Friday, June 12.

Arza Ben Kriser weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and measured 20 inches long.

The name, Arza, is a family name. Our Ira is named for Joseph’s 2nd great grandfather, Ira Nathaniel Hinckley. That Ira had an older brother named Arza. Arza Hinckley helped to rescue the stranded Willie and Martin Handcart companies in 1856. He is portrayed for a small moment in the movie, Ephraim’s Rescue. The funny thing is Sara wasn’t the one to mention the name Arza, Brigham was! He watched Ephraim’s Rescue while on his mission in Poland and thought Arza was a cool name. When he brought it up for the baby name list Sara asked him where he got it from. He told her the story of the movie and then she spilled the beans that Arza was one of her ancestors.

Ben is after Brigham’s paternal grandfather.

Arza Ben is so loved!

Abby and I went up the Monday after to visit and help mama Sara with the newborn.

What it is about newborns that brings peace and calm to an otherwise chaotic filled world?

E. T. Sullivan once wrote these interesting words: “When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn’t stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother’s heart, and she puts it into the baby’s mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies.” ( The Treasure Chest (1965), 53 )

Welcome to the world little Arza! It’s feels like you have always been a part of the family.

What a sweet, beautiful little spirit. You don’t notice all those angel kisses across the noses of you and your beautiful daughters until you post these up close photos of snuggling with your blessing bundles.
