There’s something timeless about black and white photos, especially the ones of people. Details you fail to notice in color seem to stand out when an image is stark black and white. Maybe its the contrasting colors.
This photo of my father-in-law (he’s gonna die, or rather I’m gonna die, when he finds out!) was taken last summer using my zoom lens. There is no way I’d be able to get this close of a shot if he knew I was right there taking his picture. The men were gathered around a pickup discussing some farming plans. My father-in-law has this habit of chewing on his lower lip when he’s thinking about something, which is what he is doing here.
