Independence Day BBQ

July 11, 2011 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 5 Comments

We had a great Independence Day celebration. Relaxed. No stress (meaning no fireworks). Good company (family). The kids were a bit disappointed we didn’t do any fireworks but safety overruled. We had such a wet spring the weeds grew ridiculously well. In some spots they are taller than Special Dark who is four. Now that summer is here the weeds are all dried out. Perfect fodder for a wildfire. So no fireworks. We had fun anyway!

The mini pinatas were a big hit! No pun intended. The kids loved choosing whether to use a blindfold or not. They still got the satisfaction of dropping to the ground and picking up all their candy and prizes. And the best, there weren’t any fights!

Looks like a wonderful time! And you even found a merry-go-round…they are almost like unicorns these days!

Hi, I just wanted to tell you thank-you for the crayon roll tutorial! I googled for one after looking at patterns for purchase on etsy, and yours did the trick just beautifully! Thank you! I made two — one for each of my children. I’m linking to a couple of appreciation photos. 🙂 Have a great day!

Lovely swings on the “May pole.” Remembering the 4th is sure worth it!
