Cranial Hiccups

Every once in a while and totally unintentionally my brain spews out a good idea.

You are here: Home / Family Life / Farming / Rain, rain, and more rain!

Rain, rain, and more rain!

July 23, 2015 by Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} 1 Comment

We had a very exciting day yesterday. I was in town eating lunch with some special women when I got a text from my husband with this picture.

No rain in the valley but the mountains on either side of us are getting drenched. Here’s a pic of a little flash flood coming down from the Slumbering Hills into one of our pivots. #countryliving #farmlife #rain

It was raining a ton in the mountains on either side of our valley but not IN the valley (yet). About an hour after I got home we could see the storm coming over the Slumbering Hills to the west of us.

Storm’s a coming! #farmlife

It DUMPED rain for about 20 minutes and then cleared away. Joseph called me up and said I needed to go and look at the flash floods still coming off the Slumbering Hills. This one went right into the middle of one of our pivots cutting a trench right through it.

This flash flood is going right into the middle of one of our pivots. #silverstatefarm #farmlife #rain

And this one was a bit further south.

It’s amazing how powerful water can be!

I think that first picture, with the river streaming through the dry ground and then your green field, is so stunning. The river almost looks like it’s been there forever, but yet it’s so out-of-place. It must have been amazing to watch it!
